Portrait Sketches

Portrait sketches of friends from late 2010.

Painting - Drama

The assignment that led to this painting was simply titled "Drama." I decided to venture into strong lighting and narrative.
Under the cut are some earlier stages of this painting:

More Character Design

Here's a turnaround and design done just for fun.
Under the cut is some of his process work:

Animation - Pushin'

An animation exercise in a character performing a push and carry.

And here's the turnaround the modeling was done off of.
Modeling and face rig was done by me, the body rig was done using TSM.

Simple Character - Maya

An assignment from sophomore year- to design a simple character and animate them performing a turn, a walk cycle, and a jump. Character is fully designed, rigged, and animated by me.

Here's the quick turnaround done for the character as well.

Lipsync

The audio here is from the 2010 movie Scott Pilgrim vs the World.

And here's his model sheet.

Paul the Bear

A quick turnaround sheet for Paul the Bear - whose walk cycle is shown in a previous post and went on to this rough animation:

Pantomime - 2011

Oliver the Fox

Oliver the Fox - Turnaround Sheet

Here's some character work from a couple years ago now. We drew the names of animals out of a hat and had to develop a character from it. I got a fox, so I started looking into both cute designs and the shapes of each type of fox to see which ones I found to be most appealing.
Under the cut is all that process:

Walk Cycles!

Cat Walk - 2011

Lizard Walk - 2011

Paul the Bear - Walk Cycle - 2011

I thought I'd start this blog off with some traditional walk cycles- first a basic cat, followed by a more exaggerated lizard, and the last one being a character walk for one of my early characters in traditional animation work.
